I am talking BRAND NEW store bought items verses gently used, no stains, rips or tears, TOTALLY wearable clothing.

If you would wear the gently worn clothing, would you pay to jave them? And if you would, how much is too much for used clothing?

I have four kids so I do a lot of shopping at yard sales and thrift shops. there are a lot of spoiled kids out there that decide that they don't like something after it has been worn once and sometimes before that. My oldest daughter loves the variety of clothes she gets from me shopping this way and she still has all the name brands I just don't have the name brand bills.
As for the pricing, it depends on your area, if you are in a bigger town, people seem to pay more. Anywhere from a dime to a dollar per piece is pretty normal. If you are thinking of selling stuff, ask yourself if you really want to have to pack it all back in and price so that people will think htey are getting a deal on a stick.

I'm a senior citizen and I wore my sister's hand-me-down dress only once and refused to buy anything but brand new clothes. I have to admit though for several years there I made my own clothes. I then give away the clothes when they shrink (or maybe I grew), or when I'm just tired wearing them. My mom used to say that only the poor wore somebody else's clothes and never wore tennis shoes, so we wanted to continue our higher middle class status so we bought new.

When a person goes bankrupt the judge determines their clothes as pennies on the dollar, for instance a huge pile of clothes might be $10. so I can see where stores like Goodwill would make out because the clothes are donated to them and then they sell them for a good price.

I have gotten many nice clothes at Goodwill and other used clothing stores. I can buy a nice shirt for 3 or 4 dollars.

i buy brand new & gently worn. if gently worn costs about the same as brand new then that is too much to pay for it. depending on the item i usually pay 50 to 75 per cent less.

I have occasionally bought used clothing, but not in years. I am an older person who still wears junior sizes, so finding any clothing that fits right is hard for me. I prefer it new, I prefer it cheap, I buy it all at Ross and Target.

yard sale clothes for me
I LOVE a good bargain!!!!i pay no more than 3-5 dollars for any clothing item at a yard sale
I compleatly clothed my nephew for back to school from yard sales except socks and undies and shoes.
an entire wardrobe for under 40-50 dollars
he is happy i am loving it and no one needs to know and no one can tell so nobody makes fun of him.
me on the other hand when someone tells me (oh i like your shirt) I proudly announce oh thank you i got it at a yard sale for .50cents.

Both, as long as they fit ! I don't have a problem buying " gently used " clothing, as long as they are in good shape, as you described. I don't consider myself " too good" for that ! That's just silly !!!

I stop mostly at Goodwill. Jeans $3.95. Shirts $2.95. One time I got a suit that still had the 149.00 price tags on it, for 2.95. if was kind of asian-inspired, I liked it.

I occassionally pick up good used items at garage sales but if they want too close to retail price I would rather buy it new.
