I miss the Canadiens/Nordiques era!
The Alberta battle? (Flames/Oilers)
The Ontario battle? (Toronto/Ottawa)
NY/NY battle?

I say the best rivalry was between the Nordiques and the Canadiens, those french guys could really go nuts against each other. But I still love the Oilers Flames rivalry, and for the five or six years during the nineties the Oilers had a great rivalry with the Dallas Stars in the playoffs, even though Edmonton only beat them once, it was still pretty good.

I think the Wings have more hatred for the Oilers right now than the Avs.The battle for Alberta is a good one.As a Leafs fan I can honestly say I have never felt a rivalry with Ottawa , maybe it will come.I think Philly and TO have more going on.Too bad Detroit is in the west , we loved to hate that team !.

Buffalo , Ottawa and Montreal hate the Leafs nation because fans buy up their home game tickets by the thousands to cheer on the blue and white , our home away from home games.

How about the old Habs-B's!? I mean now it's meaningless given the state Jacobs has the B's in but I loved the '80s and '90s when Cam baby finally led the B's past the Habs.

Or the old USSR-Canada games. Now Russia-Canada or even USA-Canada does not have the same buzz.

I will say St. Louis-Vancouver (Tkachuk seems to go nutso vs. Nux) have a weird rivlary that started in 03/04 as well as the Avs-Nux (Deadmash vs. Jovo was a classic...forget the stupdi Toadtuzzi-Moore thing as Toad was a doofus and thank Buddha he's toast now) games. Pretty intense and those of you out East probably never see them.

Oh, geez, Battle of Alberta always rocks more than the Battle of Ontario. And this coming from a leafs fan! lol But every year, I pray to the Hockey Gods for a Battle of Alberta playoff series; the Leafs/Sens series is starting to get tiresome after all these years. You just know that the Leafs are going to win anyways (since the Sens chokes harder than a whore) so what's the point in watching? :)

Bring it on, Ottawa...bring it on...!

C'mon! It's obvious! Boston and Montreal have met in the playoffs 30 TIMES! These teams hate each other. It's Canada versus USA! French versus English! Best rivalry in hockey!

Beginning in 1946, Montreal won 18 consecutive postseason series against Boston.

Since ending the streak in 1988, however, the Bruins have taken five of the last eight.

Montreal/Boston It is one of the oldest rivalries. Montreal has had a history of frustrating Boston in the playoffs. Back in 1971 Boston was the far better team. Montreal beat them 4 games to 3. Montreal went on to win the Stanley Cup. If it would not have been for Montreal Boston could have won 3 Stanley Cups in a row.

Montreal vs Nordiques
Montreal vs Leafs, Red Wings, Blackhawks, Bruins and Rangers all from the original six.
Battle of Alberta Oilers vs Flames
back in the 80's Capitals vs Islanders
70's Montreal vs Flyers when the Habs literally beat up the Broad Street Bullies to end the Flyers streak and Montreal again won. Larry Robinson punched the crap out of Shultzy that was sweet. Scotty Bowman and his great mind on how to beat the Flyers, by saying to his players he knows how to win vs the Flyers its by beating them at their own game intimidation and they did and kicked ***.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!

HIP HIP HUET!!!!!!!!!!!

Montreal Vs. Toronto is always good
Ottawa Vs. Toronto is good too.
Edmonton Vs. Calgary.
My favourite is Montreal Vs. Toronto. There's always excitement when these two original teams battle and it's even fun when the leafs loses.

Habs versus the Leafs or the Leafs versus the Bruins.

Alberta is on the west coast so no one cares. Ottawa doesn't have enough history yet. NY/NY is bad since neither team is any good.
