the whole "not allowed to go out with a friends ex" rule is a load of bull, look if you like each other go for it, if your friend is against it then she obviously holds on too much or just doesnt want you to be happy.
if he dumped her then it might hurt her a bit to go out with him, depending on how long it has been since thier break up.
if she dumped him then she shouldnt have any problems with it but again depending on how long since the break up he might not be over it yet so make sure you not the rebound.

try & put yourself in your friends shoes. imagine if your friend wanted to date your ex boyfriend, how you would feel? and of course observe the situation with close detail as to how harsh the breakup was, how long they dated for and if either one of them still has feelings for the other. DO ALL OF THIS BEFORE YOU ASK YOUR FRIEND. once you have been able to answer all these questions honestly and w/ out feeling like one of the two people will get hurt, then I'd say go for it!

I wouldn't even date my friend's ex if I were you. Friends don't go out with friend's leftovers and there are plenty of guys out there. I would feel kind of angry because my friend is going out with my ex and that would NOT be okay with me. Your friend is testing your loyalty to her and the last thing that you would want to do is to hurt her. You could ask her to see if it would be okay but other than that, I wouldn't do it.

i would say not to date him because not matter what your friend did date him and when you date someone even after they arent in the picture you still think about them and care..so there is probably going to be hard feeling there even if she says its okay its still going to be weird..i think there's a unsaid rule that you dont date your friends ex's unless you want to have a ex friend too...

I really think you should never ever go out with one of your friends ex. It just becomes really ackward later on, trust me i've seen it happen. One of my friend's other friend once dated her ex and my friend felt so betrayed and they ended up not talking to each other. You should really think about it and decide for your self. You never know how your friend will take it.

make sure your friend isn't uncomfortable with it first..if she's fine with it then go for it...but it's not worth losing a friendship over a guy if she's not.

if i broke up with my boyf. and my friend wanted to date him then i would not care.....if my boyf. broke up wit me and my friend dated him then i would be pissed but i wouldny get all b*tchy bout it
