It's called a Double Standard!

It's kinda like a woman teacher having sex with a 15 year old male student. She gets caught, fired from her job, is convicted in a court of law and gets 1 year probation and some community service whereas a GUY teacher who does the Same Thing to a 15 year old girl gets 10 Years in PRISON!

Does THAT sound fair to YOU sweetheart? Do us all a favor and quit complaining, you chicks have it a lot better than guys do!

I'm 30 years old and go on a fair amount of dates. I do always offer to pay my share of the check. Having said that, I feel if a guy invites me to have dinner with him at a restaurant, that invitation is the same as if he'd offered to cook for me at his house. Still, if we do dinner and a movie and he pays for dinner, I insist on paying for the movie and any refreshments there.

I'm not a feminist or moocher. I do think things should be equal, however, there is still a good amount of protocol that society is comfortable with. For example: guys usually ask the girl out. There's no reason why a girl can't ask a guy out but it's just customary.

As for the sex thing, I applaud the mentality of Sex & The City's Samantha. Granted, she had some commitment issues, she saw sex for what it should be...a healthy, pleasurable activity between two consenting people. However, going back to what society is comfortable with, guys have different standards than girls.

I've found it's best to not talk about numbers unless asked and then avoid the question if possible and if not possible, lie. I know guys are reading this and b*tching but they really shouldn't ask questions like that. And girls, be discreet about what you do. Girls and guys don't broadcast how many times a day/week/month they masturbate nor should we offer information on how much hanky panky we've enjoyed/endured.

Oh, and use protection! I know it feels better without it but you just don't know who he was with before you and the rest of your life could be ruined or cut short for a short period of pleasure.

Women are equal to men. Yet a guy get's a pat on the back from his buddies, and a woman gets called a w h o r e. It's not right. I'm 34, and married, and I've only slept with two women in my life, and I loved both of them. I'd rather masturbate, then use a womon for my own sexual gratification, and then dump her like yesterdays garbage. Women are the most wonderful creatures on the face of the earth, and men should treat them as such.

It has to do with historical traditional male and female roles. Right or wrong polygamy has always been more accepable with men then women whether it be the mormons or the "pimps". I have a theory that to some extent men feel the number of partners they've had is a sign of their sexual prowess...where as with women not only do men dislike it because it robs them of that masculine complex they get knowing they're the only one that had sex with you, but women by their competitive nature backhand you by going along with the men.

Probably for the same reason my husband got a porno covered postcard from Playboy featuring nude boobs when I'd never get one with men trying to partially show off their private parts to the world all over a postcard. Not that I'd want one now!

Point being that we still live in an unbelievably male chavanistic society where men's privates are still private but women's are not. Men can be ugly slobs but if a woman isn't everthing and then some - she doesn't feel good enough.

I tell you - I'd like to give those execs at Playboy magazine a piece of my mind and a brain examination to go with it. They send these sickening unsolicited postcards to families - like I don't want my 3 year old to check the mail for me now!!! Geez - not only is society sick - but sick in a prejudiced against women way. I feel so sorry for the women who think the best they can do in life is show off their boobs on some postcard.

I think that only hold true if the person flaunts it in a way that comes off as "trashy". Kissing and telling always opens the door for name calling regardless of what sex you are.

Keep your personal life quiet, and you might come off as "mind blowing" with your next partner without being a whore- no matter what sex you are.

are really that dumb. you can take 2 ways of looking at this
1 look at animals we just very very smart animals males go to females to reproduce the female can have offspring once a year depending on the type of animal. in humans it is takes nine months of a year to reproduce for females for male once every day to spread the seed its about reproduction. stud meaning dominate male mated with this many compared to other males
2 in a more down to civilized level woman are what has kept mankind together with you choosing one mate instead of many you keep men from acting like a "dog" so if you want more fighting and competing among males then go ahead let it be labeled "OK" for women to have alot of sex partners and watch what your mothers and grandmothers worked so hard to make go down the drain

Because this world is controlled by men who have "mysogynist" (woman haters)tendencies. Men who are deep down, afraid of the power females have over them want to (physically) dominate their "weaker" partners least they lose control.

How's that for a convoluted, physcological babble answer! ;-)

90% of all cultures are Partriarcal, which means run by the guys. (They are bigger and stronger see - and if they feel threatened then they can just beat the **** out of women!)
Not very fair its it? But then life is not fair!

I don't know, and I don't get it, but I do believe some men, some big old group of them got together a long time ago and made this "rule" up. The only way we can un-do it is first of all, don't buy in to it yourself, don't let it apply to you, do your own thing....like the song say's "It's your thing....do what ya wanna do"...then we have to teach the decent men out there to do the same, and of course teach our children. You've got to start somewhere.

Because this is still a patriarchal society. There has always been a double standard for men and women. Look at commercials and tv shows. Who is always cleaning and cooking? The women. You rarely ever see a male in this role. Until women are considered equal, there will always be a sexual double standard. I personally hate it. But us women also help to keep it going. We call other women sluts, skanks, hoes etc. Never to guys though. But as long as its tolerated it will continue.
