Why do people mention the 1% to either justify or refute the 99%? What I mean is. If I say most people are angry you will say "I am not angry". You are by no means most people. If I say I do not support abortion you say, "So that means a woman who was raped should have to keep the baby?" This counter argument sites the 1% to justify the 99%. You know damn well abortions on rape victims account for less than 1% of all abortion performed.

Actually, only about 4 in 1000 rapes result in a pregnancy. But, I ask you, should the child be killed because of the sin of the father? How many people want to be held responsible for that over which they have no control? If they still support it, I have a list of crimes they can take the punishment for, and they're all capital crimes.

Abortion is a volatile issue.

If you cannot support the idea of abortion, I will not try and sway you.

My only point is that outlawing abortion solves nothing. Women will do what they have in the past, gotten them illegally.

What needs to be done is reduce the need for the abortion in the first place.

Personally, I consider abortion an avoidable tragedy.

Now that I know the statistics on abortion I can use it against the proabotion idiots. As for the rest of the question I know what you are saying, and I have done it sometimes usually to prove that not all are how the person is claiming, I will not be claiming everyone is like me.

I don't use 1% to refute 99%.

all very true. but imagine for a moment, 99% of the population thought it was not a bad thing to eat people and one percent thought it was bad. in terms of society there is no absolute right or wrong. those are constructs of said society. but when it comes to personal morality there are indeed definite and definable rules.
so it depends on what level you argue on.

So what are you saying, that one percent of women have no rights? If you were the only person on the whole planet who was being tortured, then one in six billion people are being tortured. According to your logic, that makes it okay.
