indeed hispanic men are raised as head of household, but women make most of the major purchasing decisions, in return men earn the money and are allowed to keep that head of household, considering in mexico it's the way of life much less backed by the Catholic church ( where the majority of Mexicans are ), so the syste, works well, divorce rates are lower down there ( for the traditional Mexican that is ), but those who are modern have 1 foot in and one foot out in the culture and thus the conflicts. The women in Mexico like it that the man takes charge of the household, but with that comes awesome responsibilites and thus a man can be considered a failure if he does not provide for his family... to that end that is the major reason why so men immigrate ( legally and otherwise ) here to the USA away from there families to provide ( thus they send so much money back to Mexico ) otherwsie they have a tough go at it making any sort of money with high rates of unemployment

Well, first you have to remember that in the Latin Culture it is the Man that is the head of the family. But, your husband had to love your independence, when you were dating. He shouldn't have changed over night. Luckily, my husband is hispanic, and he was raised by a single mother. After the divorce from his Dad who ruled like a dictator., so he knows it takes two!

Being a strong independent woman, you have to learn how to work your husband and play him like a violin, I don't disrespect my husband ever, but, I voice my opinions, and I contributed more to the family income, but, I never threw it in his face, you have to learn when to speak up and when he just has to be "the boss" (IN HIS OWN MIND, ANYWAY!) Ease up and don't get all emotional, I never break down in front of my husband, but, I let him know this "AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!" Crying only shows you are weaker to a Latin Man! You will figure it out! STAY STRONG!

Honestly men act that way when you allow them to. I am married to a mexican (now separated) who thought the same way until I kicked him out. Now I have have my own opinions, i clean my house as I see fit, I cook what I want. & if he chooses to be around it is because I allow him to.

Unleash your inner B*TCH you will be happier!
