For the last week I have been having this vaginal itch, while tolerable it is annoying. There is no discharge, but I was thinking it might be a yeast infection. I tried Monistat about 4 days ago - and it is not helping. I have to go out of town Monday for work so I can't get to the doctor until Wednesday...any suggestions? Has this happend to you? FYI - my husband and I have been happily married for almost 20 years so I am not concerned with an STD.

It could just be a yeast infection that the Monistat missed. Try a tampon dipped in yoghurt. The 'good' bacteria in the yoghurt will kill off the yeast that may be present.
If this doesn't help, a visit to the doc might be on order.
Congratulations on being married for 20 years.
Sometimes as women reach menopause, natural vaginal dryness can cause the area to be itchy and uncomfortable. pH balanced moisturising soaps are available to remedy this problem. You'll find them at your supermarket or chemist.

It might be just an increase in sweat in the area -- it is the summer and it can get pretty hot down there. It could also be a yeast infection that is on the skin around the opening of the vagina itself (I had one of those, and I didn't have discharge). If you are really interested in finding out if its a yeast infection or not you should probably go to the doctor because they will be able to diagnose it properly.

Well.. Is it on the pubic hair where u shave? Cause oh man that **** can get REAL Itchy!!!.. Or if u shower and use soap on ur vagina.. It could cause an itchy breakout. I suggest using vagasil to clean youself instead of soap if thats a possible option as to whats goin on. If not... Get a Pap.

could be a reaction to your soap, clothing, heat..and many other things, try using sensitive soap or organic soaps. It may still be a yeast infection that you have to get medication for.

It may be another sort of bactieral infection, there are many different kinds. Hopefully it doesn't get worse while you're out of town.
good Luck!

I've had that problem too, but it was because I did not have enough lubrication.
