If you are referring to a mailbox provided by an apartment building, then you need to contact your manager. The locks are provided by the US Postal Service. They are the only ones who are allowed to change locks.

I prefer hacksaws over bolt cutters. If it's not that kind of lock, and you obviously don't have the key, you can usually call a locksmith to get it opened. I did in Hawaii, and it cost like $20.00. Less than a tank of gass.

use the key? if lost get some bolt cutters or if its combo use the high school trick and bash it down with a hammer, it breaks the tumbler
