It's a permanent marking to show the world who you are and what you stand for at the time you choose your artwork.
Since the only constant in life is change, it gives you an opportunity to consistently alter/upgrade to a different permanent mark.

Tattoos are a creative way to express yourself.

I have seen some pretty ones but I really have a hard time with the idea of marring the body. Getting a tattoo is not like getting a perm or dying your hair- those things grow out, if you wind up regretting it, you don't have to live with it. Yes, there are ways to remove tatoos but think about it- they have developped ways to remove them because people ended up regretting them. The removal often leaves permanant scarring and can be pretty expensive.
I though about getting one once, but then I thought about my old wrinkly skin at age 75 or more and thought how silly that would look by then. I think there are a lot better ways to express yourself and as people's tastes and ideas change you really don't want to do something permanant that will affect the way you want to present yourself to the world in 10 or 20 years.

Tacky, classless, tasteless, unbecoming, ugly, and screams to the world that you're uneducated and probably don't have all your own teeth. Even if you are none of the above, you will be judged in professional and personal situations because of a tattoo, whether it's fair or not. Everyone I have ever encountered in the business/professional world who has a tattoo has always, without exception, been someone who reported to me and never moved up. In addition, tattoos do not belong on ladies. Tattoos are for broads. Find another hobby, because I've heard people say tattoos are addictive. Just don't go there. Taking up basketweaving would be better than that!

Why would you disrespect your body that way ? Besides the fact that more people than ever are getting hepatitis years later from tattoo needles , have you seen what a tattoo looks like years later ? The colors fade and run and look all blurry ; or certain colors disappear altogether . Eventually it begins to look like a soggy page in an old comic book .There are better ways to look "cool". When I see a person with a ton of tattoos I wonder what the person who gave birth to them is thinking .They are changed forever ; and not for the better .Who wants to emulate a comic book every day of your life ?

I have 8 tattoos myself but I am able to cover them all up if the situation warrants it. I personally don't think girls look good with big tattoos on their upper arms though and any x-rated tattoos that show on men or women are inappropriate. Other than that they are a great way to express yourself, Each of mine has a special meaning to it,

I think some tattoos I have seen are cool. I was going to get one but chickened out. If you are going to get one be careful of the placement as some employers make you wear clothing to cover tattoos. I know guys who have to wear long sleeves to work when it is 103 outside!

I have 1, getting more. It is a societal misconception that tattoos are what breeds horrible people. I know very good people with tattoos, very beautiful and tasteful ones. Tattoos are not bad, and they are not always on the misfortunate.

Tattoos are described as skin art. Some look great, some ok, some not so good, some terrible. I wouldn't get one, but I don't like needles.

A great phrase is a "tramp stamp".

A second is this simple law: the better looking you are as a woman, the worse tatoos look on you. Concentrate on your diet and exercise rather than a tatoo: one will serve you better a lot longer than the other.

(... besides, they are SO passe' ... )
