It is indeed. Many people, those trying to deceive you especially, will leave out a certain portion of the story. For instance "I had the best orgasm of my life last night" would lead the trusting husband to believe she'd taken care of business by herself. What if the entire truth was "I had the best orgasm of my life last night. He was so hot and a much better lover than you." I think we all should call telling a white lie something besides a lie. In this case, the lie by ommission would have been a whopper though!

I agree with Cowboy Bill, actually. Sometimes there is just nothing to be gained by honesty for the sake of honesty. Of course, the problem is that the person you are not telling everything to would disagree with the theory.
You know that without an unblemished honesty record a relationship is pretty much doomed. If you can't trust someone, you can't stay with them in my opinion.

No. Example: it makes no sense to tell a loved one something that will hurt them if it serves no purpose other than simply being truthful or possible only easing YOUR state of mind. If you are asked a direct question, by all means, you should tell the truth.
