Well, it depends if you are looking online or at the court facilities itself. If online, the court system may have a online court docket information system. If so, you probably can look case information up by case type, docket number, party name, judge, etc.

If not, then you must go to the court facility and look up same. Normally, you may have to show ID to retrieve the court documents. The court may have a computer database for lookup and searches of the court documents. Or, the court personnel will assist you in finding such; again, it can be searched by case type, docket number, party name, judge, etc.

The clerk of court authorizes looking for the court docket. Visit the court and look for this custodian of court records.

some states have a web site for you to look them up. here in Wisconsin, it is Wisconsin courts wcca.
