That is all an urban legend. The only time hair grows faster is when your body is cold. The reason it looks like it is coming in faster and longer and thicker is because when you SHAVE you take the pointed end off of the hair and leave it with the flat side to come up through and to the surface which makes it alot more visible.

If you do it correctly, your hair grows back finer, thinner, and much smoother. If it's just peach fuzz you don't have to do it but go ahead. Shaving does the complete opposite, after shaving hair grows back thicker and at a faster rate.

No, it won't. In fact it may appear to be lighter after you wax because of the way light will hit it when it grows back but make sure to go to a good salon and have it done by a pro.

Well I would do it so you don't look like Chewbacca. Hair does not grow thicker if you shave or wax. It grows the same. It just looks like it is thicker and darker when the stubble grows in. Its all myth.

No, since you're pulling it out from the roots by waxing, the hair should grow back a little bit finer in appearance.

Whatever you do, do not shave your back. The hair that will grow back will be much thicker and that will look disgusting.
Just don't touch it. If you're really desperate to have a hair-free back, go for dep creams like Sally Hansen.

No. I asked my mom who is a hairstylist and she said that that is just a myth. It will grow back normal. Think about it, when you wax your eyebrows the hair grows back the same, right?! So why would your back be any different? Have fun on your vacation with your beautiful hairless back!!!

it's just a mythe, people say that when you shave it comes back thicker & darker, but actually al it is is the hair growing back after it was cut bluntly. waxing shouldn't affect the way your hair grows back in, you should be all set.
good luck :)

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt
