Well, you can try searching here for restaurants according to your taste palette: http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/find/results/San_Francisco_CA/page1.html?flavor_id=2&cw4=1

but, if you want to a fun recommendation, try the Rainforest Cafe by Pier 39. It's very poplar theme restuarant, loud and so not for a quiet, romantic evening, but it will be fun.

Afterwards you can take a stroll along the Pier and to Ghirardelli Square for dessert. It's vey touristy, but can be quite romantic too; http://www.ghirardellisq.com/ghirardellisq/

Or, North Beach Resturant is great too, and a more romantic setting, but make reservations!

Last thought, you could put together a picnic and take it to the Japense Tea Garden at Golden Gate Park (Japanese Tea Garden 415-752-1171) in the afternoon, enjoy the scenery and each other's company. If your schedule only permits an evening celebration, then rent a video and get take out for dinner, that's not too expensive.

Happy Anniversary!

FOr San Francisco, I suggest the Paradise Pizza, on West Portal. It has some other options, too. Or Baker's Square in San Bruno.

C'mon over to the East side of the Bay: dinner in Alameda will be in your budgetary range.
Try Spieskammer for German food, or Pier 29 for steaks and seafood, and top it all off with a visit to the Forbidden Island for mai tais!

Cheesecake Factory would be nice
There is one in Palo Alto, and also one atop Macys (Union Sq) in San Francisco
Another nice place would be The Daily Grill on Geary Street (also in SF, and 1 block from Macys)
You can see the entire menu on their website and they accept reservations
Two other great places within your budget are Max's (One on Geary street and one on VanNess) Great fun, large portions and delicious food

nicely it extremely relies upon on your cooking skills. you may desire to attempt to make a steak, for some reason men like steak, some easy salad on the part. For beverages i might say sprite it rather is eloquent and it wont stain your the teeth like coke. Fore dessert you could on no account pass incorrect with chocolate something i.e. cakes, cake, etc. Set the table to the place you take a seat during from him. dim the lighting fixtures fixtures and consume via candle easy. Utensils the place they could be and attempt to no longer positioned something inbetween you 2. As to what you place on, attempt donning some thing pink the colour of romance.

SF or SM are can be pretty tough on your wallets if you go out.. maybe the meal isn't as important as the evening? have a filling cheap meal and spend the rest on the actual date itself
