1: ANYONE can kill a fetus still in the womb. just hit the womb with a stick very very hard 2 times a day for 2 weeks. Scientists are not playing God there.
2: When cells go into mitosis, the finnished other cell is an exact copy of the other cell, so that might be called cloning. And cloning of humans is illigal by the way.

No scientists are not playing God, we're just improving technology to make this world a better place.

No, scientists spend a lot of time studying what makes life life. We gain an incredible respect for the miracles that cannot be explained. I know more intimately the secrets of what God is truly capable of because I actually understand how complex and wonderful the biological world is.
Abortion has existed as long if not longer than medicine. There is evidence of the use of abortive herbs in the Stone Age. Doctors seek to give women a healthy and safe alternative to coat hangers and poisonous chemicals.
Cloning is merely a form of reproduction. It is not a science of freaks, the scientists who are studying cloning are not trying to make a half-human half-goat or anything. They are trying to help cure disease and help understand the information encoded in our DNA.
Most scientists are not trying to play or be God. They are just using their God-given gifts to help people.

They (the scientists) have saved a lot of lives and improved our lives a lot! Cloning and abortion are things that are ethically questionable. As individuals we will have to stand before God for the decisions we made. I don't think abortion originated with scientists though. It's unfortunate that unplanned pregnancies happen but we all have the choice to say no in certain situations.

I am a liberal and for research for disease control and cureing, but the whole genetic thing is a touchy problem. If humans just start altering the genome, it may have consequence that go way beyond relatively small improvements that humans are trying to make at the moment. I mean, the real push for letting genetic research go on is Free Enterprise. If we just allow business to run with this stuff, business has no conscience.
I think the government must oversee this research if we are going to do it. I mean oversee not control. It is a very complicated area, and we had better walk carefully. I fear their is no stopping big money.

Note (prochoice is nuts. I mean her answer here)

As opposed to politicians who are trying to play "god" by invading other countries and telling them how to live?

Scientists may sometimes be guilty of not thinking about the ethics of science before doing the research, but that's less despicable than knowing right and wrong and choosing to do wrong.

No human action will ever replace what God created and keeps creating. Science will try to replicate but will never perfect it because of the complexity of existence

I don't think that they believe in God for the most part, so I don't think that they have any moral relativism when it comes to the boundaries that they push. I feel a great sorrow for them, I can't imagine how it must feel to believe that there is nothing out there greater than yourself.

Look around, everything humanity has done is to be more God like. Cars, planes, medicine, science, We want to learn about everything to control it,manipulate it and cheat death.

No. Like most of us, they are questions, which is why we are here in the first place. Unlike most of us, they chose to find real and probable answers to them. They, most of they time, do this by asking their questions, analyzing the answers to that question, and then challeging those answers until they have proven everything and everybody wrong.
