It was episode 211 (Season 2, Episode 11) - Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods
I just re-watched it. He didn't really have a plan to win. He just wanted to be on TV. He did perform the "flashdance" routine in his audition. Which was really bad.
