Straight guys know that Cher is an icon to the gay community, so that's the only reason. They don't want to admit they think she's great for fear someone will think they're gay.
They loved her in the 1960s when she wasn't a gay icon, though.

I don't quite follow, i mean i am straight and cher doesn't bother me any, i mean personally, i don't mind her but i wouldn't get angry if someone brought her on any celebrity up at that, i don't see it pissing anyone in perticular off unless you really reallyt have something against cher.
