Confused why people are giving you attitude for posting this question. Anyhow no links to pictures but three books that I would recommend, sans names of authors since I am too lazy to drag them down from the shelf. 'The Making of Adolf Hitler,' 'Nazi Germany,' and 'The Devil's Disciples.' There is also an autobiography by Albert Speer. I would also draw you attention to a novel called 'Fatherland' by T Harris. Though Hitler 'hated' Berlin, he came to accept it as the Capital of Germany - - - his plan was to renamed the city GERMANIA and use it as a showcase for his architectural vision. Massive Buildings - - - piles of masonry and brick. Hitler's taste never evolved beyond 1910 - - - Albert Speer shared Hitler's taste, as a young architect he slavishly praised Hitler's taste and catered to his whims.

One of the absurdities of The Nazi's Reign was that during a period when they should have been pinching pennies and putting all effort to building up their armed forces, they squandered millions of dollars building grandiose piles; new offices & apartments for Goebbels. Goring, Ribbentrop and Hitler. For an idea of what GERMANIA would have looked like look at photo of The Reich Chancerly (mispelled). Speer's greatest claim to fame was his speed. Hitler set absurd deadlines but Speer was up to the challenge - - - juggling multiple cpstruction teams, using blowers to dry concrete, he was a genius. Though Hitler hated Modern architecture he would be please by the trend toward big massive buildings sweeping Berlin today.

History channel has been broadcasting a program this week titled, "Hitler's Supercity," about Hitler's replacement for Berlin. The Capital of Europe was to be called "Germania." It was to be made up of huge arenas, bldgs and meeting halls based on Roman architecture. The documentary has shown a couple of times. It probably will be shown again. Check the following website for times:

Hitler was a great, but very misguided and twisted leader.
He unified a nation, ended depression, and raised a force that struck fear into its enemy. I admire him as a leader even if he was corporal in WWI, but am completly disguited and sicken by his ideology.
