my doc wants me to get a level 2 sonogram and i dont knwo the difference between that and a regular one can someone help me understand?

Its a more detailed and better sonogram. Ususally they look for birth defects like spina bifida, heart problems, brain and organs etc. These are specific things they check here and most likely the ultrasound machine is much better resolution than the common ones. There is also a 3 D US but they usually use that for images of the baby.

It's a higher resolution sonogram. There is also an even better resolution sonogram using 3-D computer modeling. It's very highly accurate.

Lv2 exposes the baby to more of the sonic waves used, but is typically the only way to investigate potential markers for things like Down Syndrome and spina bifeda.

they could be talking about looking at the heart or they could be talking about doing a 3D sonogram they look more like a real picture of your baby they do them to get a better idea of the weight of a baby

sounds like what they did to me.. it's basically a regular sonogram, but they look at certain things more in-depth. like the heart, organs, face, nose, etc. to make sure that everything looks normal... don't worry, it will be fine... good luck with the baby
