I think regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors the following really says it all:
If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence.
If the Israelis put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israelis.

Israel has legal right to the country it occupies. It was established in 1948, I believe, by the United Nations. Up until that time there was only the area of Palestine where both Jews and Arabs lived an uneasy existence. Moslems, as you call them, are the Palestinians from a variety of countries, but most displaced by World War II. Survivors of the German Holocaust flocked to Palestine hoping for their own state and protection against anti-semitism.
From this amalgam Israel was born and a Palestinian state for the mixture of Arab nationalities abandoned in Palestine was envisioned. However, it did not come about. The unwillingness of factions and greedy power brokers kept a Palestinian state from becoming a reality.
Who started the current war? It's hard to say. Did Israel use the kidnapping of two soldiers and a few ineffectual rockets as a pretext for the war? Possibly. They knew what Hezbollah was harboring in weaponry to some extent and was threatened by it. Did Hezbollah, viz. Iran, start the war? Quite likely, for all the reasons we've heard in the news. The two well may have been just itching for a fight, as they say.

Israel or should say the Jewish people have lived in Israel for over 3000 years. The Moslem's came into being in The 6th century.
Hezbollah invaded Israel and kidnap ed two soldiers and had been firing rockets into Israel before Israel went to war.
For those who think that Palestine was ever a country they need to go back to school. In over 4500 years of recorded history, this is from the Egyptians, there has NEVER been a country called Palestine. A very small region was called Palestine because the Roman emperor in 133 A.D. got tired to the Jews rebelling and re named it. The people called Palestinian were nomads before Israel became a country again but prior to this happening the Arab countries told them to settle in the area and claim it as their own. None of the Arab countries allowed them to settle in their countries, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Trans- Jordan , nor Lebanon. PLEASE learn history first before showing your ignorance lacota bob!

If you really study your history, you will learn that Judaism existed long before Islam. The Jews were in the area long before the Muslims. This does not give the Jews the right to treat the Muslims like dirt. But like the previous person said, if the jews put their weapons down, there will be no more jews. Too bad they can't live in peace and call it a day.
Hezbollah started the war and they are acting like a state within a state.

Israel has the right to Israel, the Jews. Yes, it's true that Israel was not there 60 years ago, however, it is a Jewish land, it was given to them by God! They have every right to be there. It's so small, yet the Arabs want it, even though they have so much land as it is. Why can't other Arab nation give Palestine some of their land? they are all the same religion and race?

The people who are there, ie both the Muslims and the Jews, have the right to their land. You couldn't simply try to relocate every member of either side to some other country... no country can just take an influx of refugees like that (just ask these border war fellows). They have the right to live, and to stay where they are... it's too bad they can't come up with a peaceful secular government to recognize these rights.

The hatred between the two nations started the war. World wars began with hatreds between nations sparked by little things. USA invated iraq not for war, but for oil and patrioticness.
As for whether or not muslims have the right to Israel, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Muslims aren't trying to take over Israel. Might wanna look that up.
hope that helped!

Technically, Israel wasn't there 60 years ago. It WAS Palestine, where the Palestinians live. The Arab Nations were never really real cool with that ... specially with the Palestinians being put on a Reservation.
So you tell me?
