If you're looking for space: try a Creatve Zen 30 GB storage.
However, if you're looking for pocket-sized music player, the ipod nano is great!

Now, walmart has 86 cent music downloads, which I think is pretty cheap, but if you have an ipod, i tunes 99 cent price tag is great! Also a dogpile.com audio search can allow you to download songs from peoples' pages for free. (but the selection is VERY limited)

Here are some sites for ya:

I prefer my mp3 player, it's a lot smaller than an ipod, and it's got flash memory rather than a hard drive like the ipod has, so I can treat it rough and not worry about it skipping. I can store 12 hours of music on my mp3 player, not nearly as much as I could keep on an ipod, but it's no big deal to change the songs on it.

I'm getting my music from emusic, they specialize in independent artists, and for less than $20 a month I get 90 downloads. That's less than 25 cents per song.

I think the whole concept of iPods is cool, but in actuality, they blow a**. Mp3 players will last you longer, and with a $15/mo subscription to 'Napster to Go', you have unlimited music transfers, no stupid extra programs or equipment to buy, and none of the "is this iPod compatible??" bs. If you get a good one like a zen or something, it's not that much cheaper than an iPod, but it has all the features and none of the hassle.

I really really like my iPod, but getting around iTunes and their password protection was tricky. Luckily, a place like MSN music gave me a way to avoid all that. My husband has an mp3 but he's jealous of my iPod, it has video and pictures too. I'm a Mac fan, lots of apples in my house.

Ipod, for sure. I have an ipod and I love it. If you do get an ipod then I would suggest using the itunes music store as they have a great selection of music for you to purchase.

mp3 player. creative players are really good.

you can use MSN music, napster, sam goody, wal-mart, Urge, musicmatch, and many others.

if you have Windows Media Player 9 or higher, you can access any of these stores through the WMP software.
