Just take the simple theory of energy - that it cannot be created or destroyed, but converted to another energy form.
Apply that to your self - when you live it is like Kinetic Energy, When you die, it turns to potential energy - this has all possibilities to be potential energy again - it is the same theory that applies for rebirth - though the energy source is not exactly potential and Kinetic :)
