I'm only 12 so you have to make it simple. Can you tell me a website where I can download a music maker or something like that?

It depends on how far you want to take it and what you want to do.

All sound cards have the ability to "sequence" or generate notes and sounds, but you need hardware (a keyboard with a MIDI interface and a MIDI interface card) or your need software (some type of visual keyboard you click with a mouse).

You also need a recording device (something that rembers what you clicked) and a method of quantizing (determining how long the sound lasts).

This is not easily done. You can find simple keyboard interfaces, but they ususally don't record or remember or quanize.

You generally have to buy software to do that.

The software costs anywhere from like $50 for something like Data Becker to something like $500 for something like Cakewalk.

It's generally considered easiest to buy both software and hardware. Something like a Casio or Yamaha with a MIDI interface and a MIDI card and MIDI cords.

These three items can easily cost $200 total.

Then you need software.

Most software packages let you record using a virtual keyboard, but's it's not easy!

You have to peck the notes, then change their position and time or duration to make the song play right.

It can take days or weeks to do this manually.

Go to a site like

www.shareware.com

and look for freeware or shareware keyboard programs.

Try different programs and exeriment.

Sorry, I don't think anything like that exists. It sounds like you want a music sequencer, but those are expensive (hundreds of dollars) and they have a steep learning curve. The only thing really accessible is GarageBand, but that's for Apple computers only.
