Normally it is Corn and Lima beans mixed together. It is from the Native American Narraganset language, msikwatash which when translated means mix it together.

whole kernel corn and green beans cooked with bacon as seasoning with salt and pepper. You also cook diced up potatoes with it!!! sure is good
