Does this amaze you even more...there is a great possibility that in a couple of years they will get to "Visit the Country Al Qaeda". Then, I bet you they will know.

This is a classic example of the under and mis-education of our children by the public school system in this country. However, it wouldn't be this way if PARENTS were to educate themselves and get more involved in their kid's learning. Why else do people vote for greedy war mongers?

Amazes me?...no. It's sad and pathetic to think this was the response when in this day of massive media coverage on current events, and even internet coverage, that anyone would give such a ridiculous answer. God help us all if this is the norm!

that's sad.
that's why they have government classes in high school and should be like my old one:you have to take the class. most high schools will let the kids get out of taking the government class and do something like art or another math/English class. its sad. they need to know. before, i didn't know the difference of the political parties and now i can almost have a debate with someone. schools need to enforce knowledge instead of letting the kids slid out of important classes.

There was a poll/study done about a year ago that said high school students couldn't balance a check book.
No, that doesn't really surprise me much at all.

people are so self -centered that they don't care what is going on in the world they live in. skip watching the news and never pick up the newspaper much less a encyclopedia...

they've got their heads up their ipods...
no, it's not entirely their fault. in schools, kids aren't even required to read anymore, and they come out not knowing how. it's true, the teachers read aloud to them in class.
