Everybody seems to agree that it is a lovely country but it has a lot of crime.Could you give me the reasons for crime?I am curious.Someday I will visit South Africa.

I live in South Africa, it's mainly due to poverty and unemployment!!!Gina you are right we have a beautiful country and it's sad that we have such a high crime rate = 33000 rapes in 1 year + 12985 deaths on the roads, etc.Statistics printed by the government.!!!

Hey! I'm a South African and I have a friend from Maroussi, Athens. I'm planning to visit there sometime next year if I save enough. He is a nice Greek too.
Crime seems to be the only thing that spoils our country. Generally the causative factors are high unemployment rate, leading to porverty and crime. So far the gap between the rich and poor is too wide, causing the poor to attack the rich. Otherwise South Africa is a marvellous country with vibrant cities, nice and beautiful people.

Awwwwwwwww...you are SO cool!! We've got lots of Greeks in our country!! And they're just awesome!! The crime is due to poverty and the government not trying to help it!! But SA is a totally awesome place!!

most of the small grocery shops in s.a are owned by Greek people. they are suffering a lot from Violante crimes.
the main reason, is that black people do not have the same compassion/attitude towards human life.

well, we have a high level of poverty and unemployment. Plus the majority of our country people do not have a high level of education and thus can really only sell their manual labour. there are only so many manual labour jobs around.
