To change to democrats first democrats need to cease to be a bi-coastal party.

Nothing.

They have screwed themselves. The were a party of minorities and got their claim to fame by taxing and giving it to special interest groups (some well deserving). Soon they relied on minorities for votes and was the party of the underdog.

Eventually this brought on a lot extremes. Abortion… yeah they have to support this or they would look biased. Gay military, marriages, etc., yeah they have to support that or they would look biased. Keeping prayer in school blocked, yeah they have to support that or they would look biased. Keeping religion out of everything possible, yeah they have to support that or they would look biased. Anti-guns, yeah they have to support that or they would look biased. Anti-War yeah they have to support that or they would look biased. Pro environment, yeah they have to support that or they would look biased.

So now they are made up of a bunch of extremes and they can’t agree on any one thing. It is a very fractured party. This is the very reason you see the hate Bush but NO solutions. Each and everything they complain about they don’t have a solution. Pay close attention to them… all they will say is, “We wouldn’t do it that way.” They will never present a specific plan as not all of them can agree on it.

So you think Cut & Run was a plan? Well let’s look at what happened. They got everyone worked up into a frenzy about the Cut & Run plan and the Republicans called their bluff and made them vote on it. The majority of Democrats voted against cutting and running.

While the new far left liberals (Progressives) have taken over this party and convinced everyone that they all can take back what they lost, The White House, The Senate, The House of Representatives, The Governorships, I can tell you exactly how this will play out.

As the election nears the emotion frenzy that we see from the left isn’t enough for the American people. They will start asking the hard questions… IOW, “What are you ‘specifically’ going to do?”

That won’t be answered as it will fracture their Party even more. People will realize that if they vote for one side they know exactly what they are going to do but if they vote for the Democratic side they really don’t have a clue to what will happen. I don’t think they will take this chance… especially based on “trust me” we’ll do it right, without any details.

There is a very good reason the Republicans won The White House, The Senate, The House of Representatives, The Governorships. It was because they had a platform based of a simple philosophy.

They said, “Let’s promise a few things we can keep… not everything, but a few things that we know we can keep and we will do it within a time frame. We will tell the American people in detail what we are going to do and when we do it. We must do it without exception.”

And that is exactly what they did. The other side was just saying “Trust Us.” The completely lost all the power they once had.

It wasn’t the Democrats fault directly… they just couldn’t get everyone in their Party to agree on anything so they couldn’t present a solution to anything. They have too many misfits in their party to get a consensus. The ONLY thing they can agree on is that they hate Bush and they want power back.

I personally think it needs to be broken up before they will have a party that I could vote for. The misfits on one side and the old Democratic Party on the other that has a “plan” and not just “promises.”

I have voted a split ticket many times in the past. But after what I've seen from the Democratic party in the last few years I will never ever ever vote for another Democrat as long as I live!

I used to be a Democrat. I would strongly consider returning to the Democratic Party if the Party and all its major candidates strongly and convincingly supported human rights: strong opposition to the death penalty and torture. Politics is always a beauty contest however, and people have always found vengeance and retribution more romantic and satisfying, more "beautiful" than civilized values. I will remain with the Green Party, of course, and happily.

If the democratic party were to go back to what it was several generations ago. When they were for the American people and not just the special interest groups with a lot of money.
You'd have to boot Kennedy and Hillary and pretty much all of the idiots who run it now.

to vote Republican...

I would fully support them if they came together and actually formed some concrete policy goals instead of just supporting a hodge podge of various groups and lofty ideals. Also, I will support them when their main focus isn't "What Bush/Republicans do is wrong". Sure, I agree that they are wrong, but if you are going to tell us that, tell us exactly what you are going to do to fix it.

Basically, I would vote for the Democrats if they had a clear plan like the Republicans had in 94.

The only way I'd become a democrat, is if they enforced immigration laws. But, instead, they want to give America away to whoever comes here illegally. They want open borders, so the United States will overflow with illegaly aliens, including vicious criminals.

I believe that your vote is supposed to secret. i will vote on who represents me the best. I do not have any political party connection. It really doesn't matter all party's don't work together just against one other .If I remember right I pay them to work together not against.

Don't like either party. Dems want a dem in the White House no matter what, reps want a rep in the White House no matter what. It is ridiculous. No one votes for the "right" person anymore.
