Very good question.. Dust is clearly the enemy of all electronics. The best choice is to use compressed air to clean it out along with a dry dust cloth. That should do the trick. It may not help your computer to perform better, but it could very likely extend the life of the computer itself. Happy Dusting.

Yes, if you dust the right parts. Dust can clog up that processor coolant fan which can cause a lot of problems. You generally want to keep it all free of debris.
We have a certain model of Dell computers at my workplace (don't remember off the top of my head), and capacitor blowouts on the motherboard are a known issue. If it's too dusty in there, there's the potential for fire depending on what makes up the dust and how thick it is.

Yes. If enough dust collects in the vents it will block air flow. Better air flow, better cooling, longer life. Over heating can cause different types of malfunctions to occur.

Dust will build up inside your computer, eventually limiting your CPU fan's ability to keep the CPU cool. Eventually your computer will overheat and that will result in damage to the motherboard, CPU, etc. It's best to keep it clean and make sure your CPU is running coolly. Good luck to you!

It'll definately reduce heat inside the case. Also, a dirty heatsink on top of the CPU doesn't help cool it off. You'll end up with less problems in the future if you keep it clean.
