"because I'm your mother and I said so, that's why. " I always swore I'd explain everything to my children, but by the time my son was five, I was EXHAUSTED from giving him reasons, and he was smart, so he NEVER stopped asking. His sister is nearly five years younger, so she got the "because I said so" answer almost every time. She is the problem child, not him, so maybe I was right in the beginning.

Well, I love my parents very dearly and I use their sayings all the time not with my kids (I don't have any) but in regards to other things, here are a few of my favorite ones:

*You better not lie to me! You know where liars go......
*You wanna see what your christmas present is? SORRRRRYYYYY!!!!!
*Damn it because I said so!
*I hope you have kids and I hope to God they are just like you...Then you'll be sorry....

Nothing. My parents were very abusive and I swore to myself I would never say those things to my children, and I haven't !

Yes, dang it- "Because I said so!!" I used to hate that answer, but now it seems like sometimes there is just no other alternative, after all of the regular explainations have run out

Nice, huh? You asked. :(

Oops, I didn't see the bottom part of question -- I never ever would say that to my kids or anything as close to that nasty.

Because I'm the mom! My mom had a badge that said that - she used cackle and wave it in my face. Thankfully I haven't gone THAT far.
