Can anybody give a good explanation of the book: "Guns, Germs, And Steel" by Jared Diamond?

My AP World History teacher last year always talked about that book last year. Sounds horrible. You have to read it?
Anyway, check out Wikipedia. I just looked and there is a page for that book.

The book is pretty dry but if you read the last two chapters they pretty much sum up the whole book
