Be honest. If you have to censor yourself at anytime in a friendship than you know it's just not meant to be. Find someone who accepts you, flaws and all.....

Do you want to make friends or just become closer with the ones you have?
If you want to make friends I would suggest going to some group thing - a class, gym, even church. That way you'll be introduced to new people and eventually you can ask them to do something outside that setting (like coffee or lunch).
Becoming close to the ones you already have can take time, but try doing different things with them. Just going shopping or jogging can get you talking and becoming closer.

Be the kind of friend you would like to have to other people. You also have to make yourself vulnerable by talking about very personal things to get the other person to do that as well; it builds trust and camaraderie. Also, being together a lot helps because seeing someone makes you like them more, for some strange psychological reason.

Basically just be a down to earth person, be supportive and kind, have a nice personality, and dont be shy to make conversation and to have a sense of humor (a sense of humor can get you friends fast) you dont need drugs or any of those things casue i promise you every high school has there "weed clique" or some druggy clique like that, u dont need that...just do what i said and mostly everything will be ok.

To make friends you have to show yourself to be friendly. Start a conversation with the person you would like as a friend. Maybe invite them to your home or to go to a movie or for a meal.

a true friendship requires a special recipe. you both have ti be the same sex, same interest, rarely you gotta have the same physical attributes and of course you won't find one on the net, so sorry.

there's this gnawing emptiness in my heart
i don't know why
its that old feeling again
of being surrounded with friends yet feeling so alone
my heart's so heavy; its sinking
i find it difficult to breathe
i laugh but actually i cry
life's a stageplay
close the curtain on me

Be a good friend and be yourself. Don't change to get others to accept you, it doesn't work.
Listen and empathize (genuinley) when your friends have problems, listen, share some interests, help them out, be sincere.
However, don't push yourself on them, just play it cool
