D- The refridgerant has already been compressed. It goes into the evaporator where it expands (evaporates/decompresses) which is similar to boiling but without the heat boiling needs. This expansion pulls heat from the air surrounding the evaporator (like the evaporation of perspiration removes heat from the skin, therefore cooling). The heat is then transferred to the condensor coil where it is then released. The refridgerant then goes back to the compressor where the process is repeated. A refridgerator or air condtioner does not cool the air.. Technically, it removes heat from the air.

B would have been correct if it said, "transfer of heat to the condensor... " but the heat is not transferred to the "compressor" at all.

D of course. It is the absorption of the latent heat of vaporization that cools the evaporator and is transferred to the air in the refrigerator through the metal making up the evaporator. It is when the refrigerant evaporates that the heat of vaporization is taken up.

Absolutely D. The latent heat which is absorbed during evaporation is then passed into the air outside the fridge when the gas condenses back to a liquid.

B ( but you limited the choices to no correct answer it's a process not an event ) THE REAL ANSWER to your ? is the introduction of a cold liquid into the refrigerator and the removal of it and the heat it absorbed ( you did say the AIR in the fridge )
D would have been correct if you had asked how the heat was removed from the coolant AND had used the word EXPANSION which is why i chose the incorrect B out of all the incorrect choices
