YAOI: "ya-wee" or "ya-oy"??

I can't figure it out! 'coz i heard on mtv it's ya-wee. and it could be because there's a character in naruto whose name is Aoi and they pronounce it "ah-wee." And yet someone said it's "ya-oy" 'coz it's actually short for "yamete oishiro itai" or "stop, my butt hurts" (eww.) so what is it really?

I hardly an expert in Japanese, but typically every "letter" in japanese words are pronounced. To pronounce this correctly I would think it would sound like "Ya-oh-ee" (a soft oh, not like you were questioning but sighing) but pronouncing the oh-ee very close to one another.

I pronounced it "ya-oy" up until recently. It seems "ya-wee" is the correct pronounciation. From what I've seen, most people say "yah-wee".

yaoi.*drools* huh? oh sorry I was off in lala yaoi land again. I'm not quite sure since my friends and I say it like ya-wee and ya-oy. so I can't help ya sorry. though I think that it's ya-wee.

It's "ya-wee" ... it means boy-boy realtionship...as in gay...

its prounced Ya-ow, and its boyboy relationships, meaning gay, Yuri is for girl girl relationships, i hate both, so many Yaoi fanfics, i hate them all.
