does your avater reflect the way you look in real life?

I asked this question once and recieved one response, which made me sad.
My avatar looked like me when I started on this website, but over time it started to bother me that we try and perfect ourselves based on the VERY limited standards of the Yahoo avatar selection. It bothered me of the limitations in race etc. and it made me happy when they got "plus sized" options for womyn (they don't have them for men... interesting). I used the plus sized option for awhile (although I am not plus sized) and I actually had a male avatar for awhile because I think people put too much emphasis on gender.
Now, I use a picture of my cat.

I'd like to think mine does. I chose red hair and green eyes for mine. The only I think is wrong is body styles. I am not a Barbie.
