What do you think is the best and fastist Muscle car?

The answer depends on how "muscle car" is defined. In the pure form, The '70 Chevelle with the 450 horse 454 is a MONSTER! Others will counter with the Hemi Dart, but a Dart is a compact, not intermediate. There's also an arguement to be made for a hemi-powered B-body. With traction (not present with stock tires), hemis are pretty hard to beat. And if low-production cars are to be considered, there's the '69 Ram Air V GTO. Rare as hell (about 20 made), but bad-***! (11s with just tires)
But in general, the BB Chevelle with rectangular port heads was very tough to beat with anything else...

My favorite was always the 69-70 mustang...not really a true "muscle" car, but still my favorite. Also liked the 68-69 Camaro, but they screwed it up in 1970.
The best, I think, were the Chrysler products from that era...68-70 Plymouth Road Runner or Dodge Charger. They kept trying to "underplay" the horsepower, so a buyer could still get insurance. Plymouth would rate a Road Runner with a 426 Hemi or with a 440 "six pack" at 425 horsepower, when either one was running more like 550. By 1971, it was impossible to find an insurance company that would cover one of these cars at any price.

depends on what year you want there were many through the years you had the 67 to 71 camaro fast car there was the mach 1 mustang 70to 73 there was the pontiac GTO in the early 70s and you had the trans am with the 455 engine in the late 70s into the early 80s

Fastest was probably the Chevy Chevelle 396 ram air or possibly the Camaro Z28 302 pkg. To me, the holy grail of muscle cars is the 1969 Plymouth Superbird wingcar. It was simply so outrageous it even stunned the jaded muscle car era generation buyers/drivers.

1967 -71 Shelby Cobra w/428 cu in V8 engine, if set up for the 1/4 mile it is faster than a rocket car .
