One of my friends confided in me lately that she's having breast tenderness for the past three days. She's worrying about what might have been causing that. Is pregnancy the only thing that causes that? and if it is caused by pregnancy, how long after the conception does the breast tenderness start? Thanks guys.

pregnancy can cause breast tenderness, but usually after about one month of being pregnant, so it is not an immediate sign of pregnancy. also, right before your period starts, your b rests can be tender and sore because of the rush of hormones your body is releasing. breasts can also be tender when someone has breast cancer but that is usually limited to the breast with the cancer. however, my best guess would be either pregnancy that is at least one month old, or PMS.

Breast tenderness can also be from drinking or eating to much caffeine. I know from experience. I have had this problem in the past and I'm definitely not pregnant nor having any periods. (I had a hysterectomy when I was 32). If you think she has the possiblity of being pregnant have her take a home preg. test and/or do a breast exam to be sure she has no lumps. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Usually your breasts get a bit tender before morning sickness starts, at the very beginning of pregnancy.

No. Actually your breasts can get tender before you period especially if she doesn't drink water or exercise. If she thinks she's pregnant she does need to see a Dr ASAP though.

Um Id say if shes worried shes preg to go get a pregnacy test an maybe u can go with her for support, also sumtimes b4 u get your period or if ur boobs are growing still that happens!! Stress can also be the cause!

not sure how long it would take if your pregnant but another thing that can cause it is birth control if your on it and believe it or not caffeine can cause it also. i had that problem and the doctor told me that. good luck.

if she just finished or is about to start her period this could be the reason
