Blind animus for President Bush is insufficient to explain liberals' refusal to acknowledge the reality of a cruel and imperialistic jihadist push worldwide. Nor is it simply liberals' unwillingness to work with Republicans and conservatives that render them incapable of serious and active participation in the War on Terror. It is that by so doing, liberals would be forced to upend the world view and social philosophies that have animated them since the early '60s.

Liberals refuse to acknowledge anything that does not affect them individually, and by the very nature of liberalism sometime refuse to acknowledge it even if it affects them individually for fear of being attacked or thought of less by their liberal peers. A case in point is a liberal Senator who was anti NRA and guns found packing heat and only then using the "I was mugged or my house was broken into" as an excuse, or Rosie O'Donnell who blasted Tom Selleck on her show for his conservative stance on guns only to be busted by the news media using body guards who were also packing heat. Liberals have tendency to want the world to play by their rules, while refusing to play by the same rules they want others to play by. Therefor the liberals will admit the reality of Islamic Fascism only when the bomb goes off in their neighborhood and a family member or themselves is affected..

Jihadists are real and rallying. I think the majority of people know this and at the same time they feel that this administration has woken up the sleeping giant. JOB WELL DONE obiviously was not a job well done. Now people see a war that will probably never end and the social and economic issues of this country have taken a back seat.

Your question is funny, as it on one hand is overtly and deliberately antagonistic to liberals, and on the other it suggests that it is liberals who don't want to work with conservatives. If the first thing I said to you was that you were a moron, would you then want to work with me?

What is actually happening is just what's supposed to happen in politics - two groups have two different ideas about how to handle a problem. We were attacked by nineteen knife-wielding guys mostly from Saudi Arabia, so conservatives decided to spend half a trillion dollars invading Iraq. Liberals, as well as many military leaders, believe that throwing money at the military instead of talking with other nations is not solving the problem, and is actually making it worse.

Violence in Iraq is worse than ever, Bin Laden is still free and is now more popular than ever, Iran and North Korea are more openly defiant than they've ever been before, and yet conservatives wonder why everyone isn't jumping off the cliff after them.

If you want to ask a real question, ask a real question. If you want to validate your preconceptions, go back to watching Fox.

The reason all that bad stuff exists today is simple: George W. Bush. Since serving in office, terrorism escalated around the world, all because of him. Blind devotion to President Bush is not a healthy thing these days. I'd rather think about long-term (giving up oil) than the short term (looking for more oil).

What the hell are you talking about?! The House, Congress,
all of the judges - are Republican. All of the new judges
appointed by bush are republican - he has the problem of
working with Democrats - not the other way around.

The campaign for the republicans is going to be terror & fear.
Sounds like they got you, already.
I'm personally sick of it - how much can people can take,
anyway?!

They have this strange notion that if someone is stupid and/or uneducated ,poor , weak ,screams/cries etc he is automatically right and is being wronged. And the can feel sorry ,thus good about themselves.
They are not going to jeopardize that by admitting this theory is wrong.

Stop this! Will conservatives stop suggesting, without basis, that liberals believe this, or worse--that we support the terrorists??! I take it as an insult. Quit pushing this lie! You sound like Mann Coulter.

although i see radical islam as a reality i dont percieve it to be a huge threat to the US .... I think they have been over-credited in their ability to hurt this country ... the real threat is China ... they HAVE the capability to hit hundreds of US cities with nukes and HAVE threatened to use them if we interfere with them militarily .... especially in taiwan. The war on terror imo is nothing but propaganda and a way to frighten the population into backing absolutely anything the administration wants to do. .... sand people dont scare me ...Chinese do.
