Hi:

here's what you ask for

Day of the week = (int(year/4)+year+day +Sv)/7 { int means Integer)

Sv =

jan 0
feb 3
march 3
may 1
june 4
july 6
aug 2
sept 5
oct 0
nov 3
dec 5

day of the week is:

0 - sunday
1- monday
2- tuesday
3 wendsday
4 thursday
5 friday
6- saturday

for example May 11,1961

dow= (int(61/4)+ 61 +11+1)/7

dow =(15+61+11+1)/7

dow= 88/7

dow = 12 r 4

the remainder tell you what day of the week it is

4 - thurdays

August 8,1945

(int (45/4)+45+8+2)/7 = dow

(11+45+8+2)/7 = dow

9 r 3

3 - wendsday

important info on this

this will work for the twentieth century (January 1, 1901 to Dec 31,2000) However:

for the Twenty first century, you must subtract one from the Sv
{For January 1,2001 to Dec 31, 2199}

for the nineteenth century you must add 2 to the Sv
the eightteenth century add 3 to the Sv
for the seventeenth add 4 to the Sv
for the sixteenth century add 5 to the Sv
