It's just how society stereotypes others. For example, you're either the "sexy, lipstick, hiding-bisexuality" lesbian or "the butchy, plaid-wearing truck driver" lesbian in the minds of many people. You'll just have to get on with it or smack them a few times to drive it in their hard heads that being gay doesn't mean "being the opposite gender in a same-sex body".

I think most people don't know how to treat a gay man. I have a friend who is a gay woman who about 50 percent of the people who meet her are convinced she is male. She perfers that. If it bothers you just tell people that you don't appreciate that behavior. You shouldn't have to explain it to people but if you don't who will?

well it seems that they are. they act feminine and dont have that guy persona. and they are stereotyped to be that way and nothing that has been shown to the populace as a whole has done anything to take that away. and its not like a woman trapped in a amans body they are just treated like women. just like if you act crazy you get treated like a crazy person.

this treatment stems also from the usual description i hear my gay friends describing themselves.. and believe me they do define themselves as "women trapped in men's bodies".. its what they think they are so where's the harm if we treat them that way?? (im speaking of course of people around my circle ok?)

I agree. Being attracted to males doesn't make you a female!
