I was wondering if their might be someone in the Memphis area who could help me prepare for the pre trip inspection test for a class A license. I would be willing to pay for the help.

I teach in California, and the CDL is pretty much the same nation wide.
I have only one suggestion. If you don't know someone who will walk you through it, then go to the truck stop, and do a complete walk-around of anything you can get close to without getting shot. Carry your clip-board and your notes.
Be sure to check anything you consider safety items. Don't worry if you call out things that you are not sure about. The inspector won't ding you for it, BUT he WILL ding you if you miss too much.
A note of observation (I watched MANY fail the pre-trip, even though they knew what they were doing, and had been drivers for 30+ years), the inspector is a human being, not a mind reader.
So it is important that as you walk around with your pre-trip, you CALL OUT the things you are observing. He cannot tell what you are looking at, or what your opinion of that item is. SO declare it in a clear, firm and confident voice.
Don't be a smart A**. Remember it is HE who will determine if you pass or fail.
Make it simple and easy. Start at the driver's door.
Make observations like "I am observing my door handles, and they appear to be secure, as well as the cab grab-handle.
"The mirror is secure and is not broken.
"My windshield is clean and has no cracks or chips to obstruct my safe vision.
"All of the body parts are secure, and nothing is loose. "I am observing my driver's front tire and the tread depth is more than 4/32", the tire is not a re-tread, and all of the lug-nuts appear secure (touch and twist them) and there is no tracking visible at the wheel. The wheel is solid, and there is no observable cracks in it. The tire sidewall has no blemishes or curb cuts penetrating the cord."---
Work your way around the tractor, then proceed on to the trailer.
The inspector will most likely NOT ask you to go under the vehicles for inspection, because then HE would have to follow to see what it is you are observing or doing. But you DO want to declare to him sometime during the pre-trip that the brakes have less than 1" free-play etc. That the suspension is secure, and that there are no loose springs or broken leaves.
As you enter the cab, show him that you know the controls of the truck, that the steering wheel doesn't have too much free-play, that you know all of the gauges, switches and valves.
Sometime during the pre-trip, he will expect you to turn on all of your lights and demonstrate that they all work, and call them out, "my head lights are on and none of them, high or low beam are burned out, all marker lights..." etc. You get the picture. he will want you to test your horn.
I think by now you have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
When you go out for the road test, remember, he can't see what you see, and doesn't know even IF you see something.
When he tells you to make a turn, tell him "you want me to make this left turn, I have begun signaling for that turn" or "you want me to merge into the left lane. I am looking in my mirror, and there is ample room for this maneuver, so I am signaling left"....
Practice this well, and if possible with the vehicle(s) you are going to take your test in.
One other thing, PRACTICE until you can do it in your sleep the 4-point or 5-point air brake inspection you will be required to do. This is one of the most important pre-trip exercises because it is SAFETY.

Good Luck
