I've had both a Brazillian and a Bikini wax (I'm a beauty therapist) and i prefer to get Brazillians.
However, bikini waxing does hurt a little bit the first time you get it done, so just ask your therapist to put a cold compress on the waxed areas, and make sure she supports (pulls the skin taut while waxing) and you will be fine.
Also, i suggest you use hot (hard) wax for your first time, as it is a more sensitive wax.
Hope this helps :)

As a matter of fact hunny, I just had one done today (going on vacation this weekend) It is painful but can be dealt with. If you go to someone who is really good its a breeze. I actually went to a Russian woman for a Brazilian and she was GREAT only certain areas hurt and she told me to breathe fast each time it would hurt badly. But then again its all about how much pain you as a person can tolerate.

Um, it feels pretty awkward, actually. If you go to a beauty supply store, they have a lidocaine spray that will numb the area first (without harming your "lady area"). Take it to wherever you are getting waxed and they will let you use it first. It really helps.

Did it for seven years. Didn't hurt that bad. now I do Laser hair removal. Waxing was a waste of time.

Waxing is painful.
you have to find a trained professional, for hair removal. otherwise your skin could be damaged.

it is excruciating the first time you go, but it gets easier every time. You should go after you have finished your period, if you go the week before, your tolerance will be very low. Also, it helps to pop 2 ibuprofen 30 min before your appt. And remember to breathe through it! (they don't teach you lamaze for birth for nothing)
