I'm not asking about the Wikipedia answer, but why are they still hated to this day? I'm hispanic and we don't have the best history with Native Americans, but that never stopped them from being my friends.

When I was growing up there was this Navajo girl at my school (which was 50% Pueblo Indians) and they all hated her. When I asked my friends why they all said "'Cuz she's Navajo." I asked why that would matter, and they all went silent. No one would say why they hated them.

When I later tried to research it all I found was that some Pueblo Indians called them "thieves". And, again, I am thinking so? There has to be more than that, because my backround never mattered.

I have Navajo friends, and they refuse to speak of this as well. They just don't talk about it. Bad history... these are the same people that have no problem partying with white people! What happened?

It doesn't seem to be in any history books, so what happened way back when?

The Navajo were a nomadic people. The Pueblos were agrarian and as such stayed in one place geographically. It stands to reason that the navajos crossed into pueblo territory regularly for raids (going after woman, food, and later horses). Years of this would grow a pretty big cultural hating.

Not having time to go through this whole long question and just sticking to the question in bold for two lousy points, my guess is their music. They don't like their music. They probably don't have much rhythm and sing off key.
