In laprotomy they open your belly and examine it thorougly. It is just like any big abdominal surgery.

you will probably have a light anaesthetic for this procedure. the surgeon will make 3 small incisions in your abdomen through which s/he can place a small camera to either make a diagnosisand/or perform minor surgery.. you may have some mi9nor abdominal pain for a few days but you should be able to go home after the procedure................... ask your doctor for more4 and better information.
