20 sit-ups won't even make a dent. how long does it take to do those 20? 30 seconds?
the best way to lose fat around the stomach is to do cardio exercise. there is no such thing as focused attention when it comes to reducing fat. by doing all those sit-ups, all you are doing is building a great set of abs that stay hidden behind the fat.
now, don't be discouraged, 95% of people suffer from that exact same problem. try doing 30 minutes of jogging 3 days a week, then the next two days do a series of cross training exercises. try this program out. it's 30 minutes, do each line for 2 minutes
- jog in place
- jumping jacks
- jog in place
- jumping jacks
- high knees (jog in place, but drive your knees as high as you can)
- butt kicks (job in place, but try to kick your butt with back of your foot)
- high knees
- butt kicks
- squats
- wall sit (put your back to the wall and sit until your knee is bent at a right angle.)
- squats
- wall sit
- wall taps (turn around face the wall with your arms up, jump and tap the wall at the highest point you can reach, as soon as you land, hop right back up)
- jumping jacks
- wall taps
if you have never exercised before, do all of this at your own pace and don't overdo it. as you get more and more in shape, you can continue to do the same exercises, just up the intensity and do each exercise faster.

Sit ups do not make your stomach smaller. In fact, the sorts of exercises people do to shrink fat in target areas does not ever cause weight loss in those target areas. Sit ups build up your stomach muscles, and rest assured there are growing muscles under the belly fat. But the only way to actually burn fat is to burn off more calories than you take in.
If you want a flatter belly, reduce your calories and increase aerobic exercise like walking, swimming, or dancing. In order to get that flat belly firm and toned, do sit ups.

Your stomach fat didn't get there in just 2 or 3 weeks, and it's not gonna go away in 2 or 3 weeks either. Keep working and be patient.

Just give yourself some time. Unfortunately stomach/ hip fat in the body is last to go. Moreover it should be a balance of total calories you taken in to total calories you spend. Be moderate in diet, as well as do some balancing exercise ( means all parts of the body not just stomach) give yourself 3-4 months, you will be fine.

You have to give your stomach time. It may take a while for you to see results. 2-3 is not enough time to see results. On top of that, you didn't mention your eating habits. Have you been eating healthy along with doing the situps? Have you been watching the portions, or even the calorie intake on a daily basis? Doing situps is not enough, look into those things also.

If you are doing exercise alone, then you may need to do diet and exercise. Exercise will tone up the underlying muscles, but won't lose you the overlying fat. Using up more calories than you are eating will - but you will have to do more exercise than 20 sit ups for that.

doing situps alone wont get rid of a belly. it builds abs under the fat. you have to do cardiovascular excersice. that will lower the % body fat on your body. good luck.

sometimes situps make ur stomach look bigger even..... you need a healthy diet and to drink plenty of water cause if you dont, your body will retain what water it has left and it will make you look larger. i would suggest pushups if you can, or maybe jumprope, bike riding, jogging and other ab exercises.
