I don't think that is always a true statement. I got my BA degree when I was 41 years old, so I qualified as an adult learner. The information I was presented was facts and information to learn as part of the subject, thus memorization of it. This had nothing to do with how I was perceiving it. I tell you one thing I can perceive though is a lousy teacher who can't present information well to be understood by all. They are the ones who are presenting it through their perspective in some cases. Since I had a history to relate to in relation to this new information, yes, in some of my learning experiences I integrated into what I already knew both from life experiences and scholastic experiences. I became a better critical thinker as I got older too, and this impacted my learning experience.

The teacher presents or delivers information a certain way and the Adult Learner interprets that information in accordance with their own experiences. It is a good way for them the learn.
There are three ways that people can learn from information:
Visually - They learn by watching;
Auditory - They learn by listening;
Kinesthetic - They learn do doing.

Sometimes life experiences can be used by Adult Leaners to better understand the information they are trying to process.

Perhaps its because teachers often present things from an ideal perspective. Black and white. End of subject. Adults have experienced the gray, giving them more objectivity and therefore a more varied response, as opposed to a child who can only perceive what they have been told.

i recognize more beneficial than all and sundry ever has, so I genuinely have had to be a staggering learner, man or woman who has questioeds each and every little thing and appeared for definitions, the mandatory technological awareness, likenesses and adjustments, new ideas of setting up the "huge photo" mutually". yet it truly is why i'm a instructor--once i stumble on out the reality,mI then choose somebody else to benefit from it too. So, to respond to your question, maximum folk will be more beneficial of one than the different; yet on the point I artwork on, try to be very almost equivalent at both events.

Based on my learnings in uni, its because adults have already accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experiences.
Their mind as not as mallable as young children so they're constantly questions the status quo as opposed to absorbing it without too much questionings like children.

The key word here is "adult"...too much life has been lived not to perceive. Many have the "been there, done that" theory.

Everyone knows, "Those that can, Do and, Those that can't, Teach".

I don't think this applies only to adults though...
