It sounds like you could be pregnant. Usually the first symptom that women have is either a missed period or implantation bleeding/spotting. Are you having unprotected sex? Do you have any other symptoms? Since your cycle is normally regular, you should definitely take a pregnancy test. The earliest a pregnancy test can be taken is about four days before your next period is due however in order to ensure an accurate result you should test the day or the day after your period is due.

Some women experience some amount of bleeding or ‘spotting’ of blood ( spotting between periods) approximately 14 to 16 days after the last menses at around the time of ovulation. Spotting can be caused by:-
- The haemorrhage is a result of temporary withdrawal of oestrogen at the time of ovulation. This causes the endometrium to shrink a little and cause bleeding.
- It is more common when the pelvic organs are congested with blood.
- Some researchers believe that the bleeding may come from the cervix, the glands of which also proliferate in the oestrogenic phase.
- Another view is that the bleeding may come from the ovary at the time of ovulation.

that is just what i had. my period was late and i had a very light/spotting like one for only 2 days. i didn't go to the Dr right away because i thought it was just a light period but then i had other symptoms and i knew i was (since i already had one daughter) but i was glad because we had been trying for about a year and finally gave up and then when i went to the Dr i was 14 weeks pregnant!i think you should get a test and see Dr to be sure.the Dr told me when you become pregnant and when the egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus it can cause light bleeding. :)

There is a urine test which is usually done in the morning after a missed period or there is a blood test that is done at the doctors. For the urine test I would say to use First Response. It is VERY good. goodluck
