Has anyone honestly had the pleasure or displeasure of meeting Prince William, or other members of the royal family?

Okay, I know I said pleasure or displeasure. I don't mean anything harmful. I've never met him or the royal family but I do like them, especially William. And I just wanted to see what everyone who has met them had a good experience. I once met a guy on a message board who went to the same school as William and he didn't seem to like him at all. Personally, I think he may have been jealous and had a personality clash with him. Anyway, I didn't mean to sound offensive or negative with my comment.

I met Prince Charles at a reception for students at Cambridge in 1998. There were several hundred people and they moved almost like a mob towards the door when he entered. He pretty much asked everyone the same questions: where are you from, what are you studying. He perked up when I said British history but then looked dubious when I said women's rights. I'm sure he was just joking.

I met and spoke to the Duke of Edinburgh (the Queen's husband) while I was in High School in the UK.
He was sponsoring a youth program called (surprise) "The Duke of Edinbugh's Award" and came to visit our school to promote the program....
Seemed very nice...typical hands clasped behind the back deal....he seemed really old to me then....and that was back in 1976 so God know's what he looks like up close now!

I also have a picture of my Great Grandfather talking to Edward VII (who abdicated back in the 1930's 'cos he wanted to marry a Yank). He was visiting the Cowley Car plant where my Great Grandfather worked and he was told that my Great Grandfather was awarded the Victoria Cross in WWI and so asked to meet him.
Its a really neat picture with the King leaning on a shooting stick and my Great Grandfather in his working clothes.

My brother in law and sister have several photgraphs of his dad and mom with the King and Queen of England his dad had a very important position with the Royal family. It is strange to walk into thier home and see this and several photographs on thier wall of Royalty..My sister met her husband years ago when he was traverling the us on vacation. (he is from England) ..they have been very happy every since! My brother in law says he remembers these important figures picking his dad up for work everyday when he was growing up.
