It depends on a number of things.
-Do you mean to start the baby on whole milk as a supplement to, or a replacement of breastmilk or formula? If you intend to replace breastmilk/formula, I would only do so if your child is really on a healthy variety of solids. Whole milk is just not as nutrient dense.
-Do you have a family history of allergies? If you don't, then it's probably fine. If you do, it may be better to hold off.
-Has the baby shown any prior sensitivity? If the baby is breastfed, has he or she responded negatively to dairy in the mom's diet? Have you tried any other sources of dairy (yogurt, butter, cheese), and have you noticed any adverse reaction? If so, it is probably best to wait. If not, then it's probably fine.

O goodness yes. My first was started on it at 11 months, second at 9 months alternating bottles one whole milk the next formula....
My youngest takes a 6 oz bottle every 2 1/2 hours and he's 8 months he is to the point that he can finally eat cereal, fruits, and veggies so we do give him a 4 oz bottle of milk a day usually with his breakfast to help save on formula. (he refuses to take more then 6 oz at a time even if we make him wait longer or even at night when he does sleep 5 hours at a time and wakes up he will still only take 6 oz?)

My ped told me to start my girls on milk about a week before their 1 year check up. That way we could talk about any reaction they might have had.
I'd start by mixing 1 - 2 ounces with 6 oz of forumla or breastmilk, then gradually increase. Go slowly, though. Bad reactions to milk are common and painful. My youngest still can't drink milk and she's three.

It's probably the perfect time. You can wean him gradually from formula (or breast) and have him completely ready by his first birthday. Just watch for reactions but if he hasn't shown any signs of allergies yet I'm sure he'd be fine. My first son got a bit a diarrhea when I started him but it only lasted the first couple days. Good luck. Also it might help to have some mylicon on hand in case it upsets his stomach.

Trust your instincts, I have a little girl who will be 11 months on the 28th and I give her food that contains whole cow milk including yogurt. Ask pediatrician at next well-baby check up.

Yes. With my first son, we did everything by the book...waited until he was exactly a year old to start milk, etc. With my second son, we gave him milk about 2 weeks before his 1 year b'day. He's fine. :) We were just so sick and tired of buying formula, lol.

You should ask the pediatrician, but if I had to guess I would say yes. They usually switch the babies at 1 year of age to whole milk, anyway, so I would say you are close enough.

Yes. You just have to make the transition gradual, you don't want to go from formula or breast milk straight to whole milk, but now is a good time to start the transition.

12 months is the standard, so probably yes, as long as you start out slowly. The sodium content of cow's milk is much higher than breastmilk or formula, so make sure you are supplementing with plenty of water.

Should be fine. Do half formula and half milk to wean onto the milk. Good luck!
