How do I go about coming a singer?

Hey people, This is baby J or lady J whichever you wanna call me...doesnt matter
I was wondering, how do I go about being a singer. I know that I have to make a demo, but its harder than i thought, What am i supposed to do i mean just help me if u know what im tryin to say

if you are good, get you a few gigs so people can hear you. get you a sponsor to help you with the finances and your demo. It's not easy but with determination and support you can make it.
