I'm travelling to Xpu-ha on September 2 - 9 and was wondering if anyone has been there during this time. I know it's hurricane season but I was looking for more detailed info. Thanks all!

This site has historical data for Cancun: [about 30 minutes north, but I'm sure you knew that ;) ]

About half way down in the center column is a "History & Almanac" section. You can set that for the dates you are going to be there and see what the weather was like in previous years. That being said, don't pay too much attention to the weather forcast as it always calls for rain, clouds and wind. If it rains its generally very hard and of short duration, and clowdy generally means blue skys with puffy white clowds, nothing that is going to spoil your beach vacation.

The same site also has a tropical storm tracker here:

You can check that closer to your departure date to see if anything is brewing.

I wouldn't worry too much about Huricanes, even though this area is prone to Huricanes you need to think aboput what that really means - one or two dangerous days, once or twice a decade. I've been to this area many times in September and October and the weather has always been great.

Enjoy!
