The Greeks considered sex between men and boys to be normal. To us it is deviance. The boy has no chance to decide, and is too young to be informed about it in any case. That makes it rape.
Only an informed, educated adult has a chance to step outside of their cultural norms and decide for themselves what is right. This barbarism is inflicted on young girls who have no choice. I have a hard time believing an educated woman, who understood she was giving up a potentially rich sex life, would choose to do this.
This is one of the single most disgusting practices on Earth.

As one from a western culture, I would personally view it as sexual deviance. In certain cultures, however, female (and in some cases male) genital mutilation is a common social and religious practice. It's an interesting question!

i imagine it truly is an extreme case of male dominance. If females in a subculture settle for being mutilated, it truly is because the repercussions of not filing are extreme. And would not all and sundry right here recognize that cultural relativism isn't a time period describing an act, it describes an concepts-set? the purely way you should use that element period for that reason might want to be to assert that "acceptance of the practice of lady genital mutilation via people of different cultures is because of their concepts-set of cultural relativism." it truly is a perception that cultures won't be able to be judged from outdoors because attitudes are relative to the subculture itself, purely. i do not trust this, myself. some issues are staggering or incorrect for people, no count number what they have been taught to trust.

i don't see how cultural relativism would apply to that, because cultural relativism is about cultural differences, and you haven't shown any cultural examples. but I think that it would fall into cultural relativism and sexual deviance,as the two answers above mine have stated. Of course, there are always special circumstances.

Deviance. It's symbolic of cutting off all female pleasure in order that the male can control her in society even more.

Cultural relativism. For some cultures, it's the norm. For us, it's very wrong.
